Grant Support

Federal:

Pilot project, Emory University Collaborative Center for PD Environmental Research, NIEHS, 5U54ES012068
Title: A midbrain culture model using TH-GFP mice

Foundation:

George C. Cotzias Memorial Fellowship, American Parkinson Disease Association
Title: Regulation of energy metabolism in midbrain dopamine neurons

Pending:

Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award, NINDS, K08 NS048858
Title: Molecular mechanism of selective neuronal vulnerability

Research Focus:

My laboratory focus is on mechanisms of selective neuronal vulnerability in neurodegenerative diseases. Using global assessment of gene expression, live-cell imaging, and assays of cellular metabolism and toxicity, we are attempting to determine pathogenic mechanisms of dopamine neuron death in Parkinson's disease.
