Research Focus

Current research focus on the mechanisms of GABA and Glutamate receptor-mediated transmission in the basal ganglia. To achieve these goals, I employ whole-cell patch-clamp recordings from brain slices preparations and a combination of immunocytochemical techniques, analysis at the EM level. Our findings help understand the pathophysiology and improve therapeutic strategies for Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases.
