Lenora Higginbotham, MD

Biography

Dr. Lenora Higginbotham is currently a Senior Associate within the movement disorders department at Emory University.  She acquired her MD at Emory School of Medicine before training at Johns Hopkins Hospital for neurology residency.  Since early in medical school, Dr. Higginbotham has maintained a strong interest in neurodegenerative disease, including parkinsonism.  Her current research investigations address the discovery and development of electrophysiological and molecular biomarkers in Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonism.  Following her fellowship, she plans to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist with an overall aim of improving the diagnostic accuracy and treatment of parkinsonian diseases.
