Glenda L. Keating is a Research Associate in the Department of Neurology. She obtained her Ph.D. in 1999 from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and began postdoctoral training at Emory University under the mentorship of Dr. David Rye as part of an American Sleep Disorders Association Fellowship. Her research is focused on brain substrates important for behavioral state control and their regulation of both movement in sleep/wake states and behavioral sequelae. Experimental investigations employ anatomical, electrophysiological and behavioral assays to understand animal models of sleep disorders and human disease (idiopathic hypersomnia, Parkinson’s Disease, Restless Legs Syndrome).
